First hour pledge
BLIZZARD day . . . Resources required at this point in the unit: Novel synopsis As we read, we need to make sure to list elements of narrative and features of the mystery genre for support and proof that this novel is a mystery narrative. First hour pledge
1. Students attempt to take the test that was scheduled for today. Scores will be recorded on sticky notes WITHOUT names on them. The scores will be categorized into columns: 100%- 90%, 89%-80%, 79%-70%, & no-man's land 2. Guided student-led small group discussions about reasons for success rates and rates of failure. This will serve to allow students to motivate and support one another and encourage effort and pride in efforts. 3. Quizlet Live for team study/motivation then 4. Quiz taken one final time |

1. Vocabulary pretest via Quizlet. Students will have to log into Quizlet then find the set in the folder designated by hour. Quizlet Link
2. Students will get a vocabulary handout that they need to fill in - they are building words using base words, prefixes, and/or suffixes.
