Monday |
1. Review new list of conjunctions - subordinating conjunctions which is much more extensive than the seven coordinating conjunctions. (fanboys). 2. Deep discussion about when and why you sometimes need a comma when you use a subordinating conjunction. 3. Check Grandpa and popcorn paragraphs . . . clause packet page three from Friday. 4. Khan Academy for a grade - one seven minute lesson clip with four questions - 11 total points. 5. Clause packet page four to work on for tomorrow; this is a grade. MLA formatting:

Tuesday |
1. IXL Group Jam to formatively assess student understanding of
independent and dependent clauses. 2. Large group discussion about the all prior knowledge necessary to understand and use these different clauses -
4. Group complex sentence activity - student. teams of 9-11 students come up with a complex sentence including a prep phrase in each clause. They will then "act out" the sentence and do the same as they switch positions of the clauses. 5. One last time to revise Clause Packet Page Four (Aunt Betty paragraph). This will be handed in for grading tomorrow. |

1. Show students how to turn a Google Document into G.C. for grading; students will
turn in the Aunt Betty paragraph (Clause Packet page four). 2. Move onto relative clauses - packet pages nine and ten; ten will be the next grade. |
