First hour pledge
1. Practice quiz on chapter four vocab, elements of narrative genre, and features of mystery genre. QUIZ WILL BE COMBINED WITH CHAPTER FIVE TERMS AND CONTEXT CLUES. 2. Small group competition revisions of chapter four questions #2 and #4
3. Class time to finish drawing and working on the caption with an in-text citation; this is due tomorrow. Figurative language, rising action, and character traits will also be recorded on the text copy while reading. Resources required at this point in the unit: Novel synopsis As we read, we need to make sure to list elements of narrative and features of the mystery genre for support and proof that this novel is a mystery narrative. DISCUSS WITH 1ST AND 2ND HOURS:
Since they missed our two half-days last week, 1st and 2nd hour students can use today to catch up on the Khan Academy comma lessons.
Students are to answer all seven practice questions that follow each lesson; HOWEVER, they ONLY HAVE TO ACTUALLY WRITE out four of them below the notes they took on each lesson. Students should ensure that they have the correct answer choice prior to writing them down.
