Tuesday |
1. Piping Plover assignment introduction and set up the Google Drive document, so it is ready to begin typing after progress monitoring. 2. Progress monitoring should only take 20 minutes or less if students took the time to prepare. 3. For the assignment, students are to type out the Plover paragraph. The paragraph is very choppy in a few places, so students need to connect clauses and create more fluency. Students will have to show me what they know about combining sentences (clauses). The will add connecting words and some punctuation marks. THEY JUST NEED TO DO WHAT HTEY THINK IS RIGHT. We will revise and learn why they are correct and why they may be incorrect. 4. Document formatting will be used in the lesson tomorrow. |

1. IXL then Khan Academy to get students thinking about the next skill we will target. This related directly to the "Protect the Plover" paragraph that was assigned on Tuesday.
Students should utilize their planners to record work and assignments, so they do NOT forget; the procedure will be different than it has been... 2. Revise the "Protect the Plover" with FANBOYS if this was not already done on Tuesday - a comma is ALWAYS REQUIRED! 3. MLA formatting

BECAUSE STUDENTS WERE WITH A GUEST SPEAKER YESTERDAY, 3rd hour is 45 mins behind... 1. Check plover paragraph for coordinating conjunctions
2. Two video lessons for compound sentences.
3. FANBOYS fill-in chart and practice sentences due for tomorrow. 4. HAND IN IXL DIAGNOSTIC REPORTS TODAY. **** For the remainder of this skill lesson, students will work out of the "Lesson Plan Archives" for this week and part of next along with the "Clauses Information Packet" under the Language Resources/Text dropdown menu. |
